Le Chainon welcomes more than 500 women
Stay-for-the-Night Service - A Safe Haven
From 6:30 pm to 10 am, Le Chainon opens on a daily basis its accommodations for 12 women in a comfortable dormitory room. Dinner and breakfast are served there. A lunch can be taken away on departure. A caring presence is offered. Timely services include health care, hygiene and clothing care.
A reservation is required the same day by phone at 2pm at 514-845-0151.. Places are allocated on a first call first served basis.
Three lounges are also available for short emergency occupancy.
Short Term Unit - To reorganize yourself
For stays up to 6 weeks, 21 women can enjoy full accommodation in single or double room free of charge. Listening, professional support and support through reorganization procedures are offered, in addition to meeting the basic needs - meals, hygiene, laundry.
Transition Unit - Resuming Life
For a reasonable financial contribution, 15 women enjoy a stay of between 3 months and a year. This program allows the resident to undertake, with a counselor, a process leading towards self-determination and empowerment over her life.
Maison Yvonne-Maisonneuve – Homelessness: Never Again
15 furnished studios for women aged 55 and over and who have stayed at the Chainon are available for a long-term period at an affordable cost. Large shared areas that are conducive to socialization. A resource team provides comfort and security 24 hours a day.
Residents participate in activities taking place at Le Chainon. In addition, they benefit from professional support during medical and other types of appointments.
